Owen Sound is surrounded by the Bruce Trail as it wraps itself around the city. The Niagara Escarpment bends sharply at “spectacular” Inglis Falls as water cascades down for well over 100 feet. The West Hill trail, has the usual parallel cracks , but also has transverse cracks that are wide enough that hikers have to step over as they travel above the west side of the city; watch your step!
The Sydenham Club of the Bruce Trail Conservancy has produced two trail guides for “Looping through Sydenham” that are both available to our guests at Between The Maples. It details unique sections of the trails between Wiarton and Walters Falls and the “Side Trails” that have been developed by the club members. We make page copies for our guest to take on their trail walks.
Bruce trail access points with parking are numerous on all sides of the city.
